Many of you might have asked yourself what to do after engineering  B.E/B.Tech. many students do not have the awareness and do not know what to choose. In this article I will tell you about the available opportunities after B.E/B.TechIf you a current  B.E/B.Tech or passed out student you must read this article. Even if you have decided or though of something check out the underlying opportunities after  B.E/B.Tech.

The first one is Campus Placement
1) Campus Placement
Getting selected in decent company is a good option. This option would be good if you don't have any intention for further studies. This is safer option. While in job, you can even shift to higher studies after getting a experience of a year or so. Again, getting a decent job in campus placement is a difficult task. You need to have a good academic cgpa.

2) Go For M.Tech
If you have a passion of studying, exploring new, you can go for higher studies. For this to get into a good university you need to get a good score in GATE. GATE or Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering is an exam conducted every year in Feb-March, for admissions in IIT's, IISc', NIT's and many other universites.

3) Get into PSU's
PSU's or Public Sector Undertaking. Recently many psu's have started recruiting students based on their GATE score. If you have good rank in GATE you can get into PSU's. This is also a good choice for those who donot have intention of higher studies.4) Do M.B.AM.B.A or Masters in Business Administration. If you are not interested in technical you can opt for MBA. CAT (Common Admission Test) serves as a gateway for an MBA at the IIMs and many other leading institutes. Some other popular exams are XAT (Xaviers), NMAT, SNAP, CMAT, TISS, IRMA etc.

4)Prepare for Civil Services
Always saw yourself as an IAS or IPS officer? 
Yes, it is the toughest exams in India.You need to put your complete focus in addition to lots of determination to prepare for Civil Services Examination. 

5)Go for MS
It is also a very good option to explore. If you choose to study abroad, you will get a lot of exposure and learning along with the education part.
You need to give exams like GRE, TOEFL, IELTS, for getting into foreign universities.
You can also explore integrated opportunities abroad. Along with options of MS you may explore options of MS+PhD and other research oriented courses. 

6) Become a entrepreneur
Always wanted to be your own boss?
Then starting something of your own is a great option. But before you think about it you need to be sure about your options. Startup is trending more as a fashion then a career option. Be ready for the challenges and immense learning if you are determined to be an entrepreneur.

Engineering degrees offer the chance to specialize in many of today's most exciting and dynamic fields  with career prospects to match. Choosing a branch in engineering is the most difficult task. Its better to choose branch on your interest.

Today I will help you in choosing branch in engineering on your interest.

First let me tell about the branches existing in engineering. The following are the famous branches:-

• Chemical Engineering
• Computer Science Engineering
• Electrical and Electronics Engineering
• Mechanical Engineering
• Civil Engineering
• Electronics and Communication Engineering
• other interdisciplinary branches like Aerospace Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Applied Engineering, Biomedical, Robotics and many other.

Out of these Electrical, mechanical, civil  Engineering students call these as core branches.

Please note these points before choosing a particular branch

Computer Science Engineering

1.Do you like computer ? (I am not talking about computer games and Internet)
 2.Do you want to do something new in computer ? 
3.Do you always experiment with your computer and surprise others ?
 4 Are you strong enough in mathematics and logic making skills ?
5.Do you like puzzles ? 
6.Are you having a good IQ.
If you answer most of the question in yes then this is the branch for you and you are made for this branch. This branch require a good logic making skills and good aptitude ,innovation and hard work. If you are having all these things in you then go for this branch. 

Information Technology 

This branch require the same skills as in Computer science & engineering. There is a little bit difference in their syllabus content. There is no big difference as far as placement and job opportunity is concerned both the branch are equally good and well payed. 

Electrical Electronics

 1. Have you ever open your switch board and repair it ?
 2. Do you want to know the functioning of your home electrical appliances ?
 3. Do you want to know what is really going on in a computer CPU ? 
4. Are u interested in sensors & transistor ? 
5. Do you want to make your own robot ? 
If yes then this is the branch for you, again there is a small difference in electrical and electronics most of the syllabus content are same. In most college theses are separate branches but in some college  they are same. In short we can say that electronics is subset of electrical. As far as placement and job opportunity is concerned then it depend from college to college.

 Mechanical Engineering

 1.Are you interested in bike and cars design ? 
2.Do you take interest in functioning of daily routine things ? 
3.Do you ask basic question to your teachers(i.e how this works ? how that works ?)
4.Do you like physics ? 
5.Do you like to make some new mechanism ?
6.Do you like to use your engineering skills for a common man life ?
 if yes then you are at right place this is the branch for you. This branch require a real hard work. In most of the colleges mechanical and production are different branches but there syllabus content are more or less similar but in few college this is combine. There is a misconception that in this branch's job opportunity are less as compared to computer science and electronics. Again it's depend upon individual .This is called evergreen branch ,now a days there  are a lot of job opportunity and money in this sector if you have talent and ready to work hard.

 Civil Engineering 

1.Are you interested in building making ? 
2.Are you ready to rock the world by your talent ? 
3.Have you ever think how this can be done after seeing a building ? 
if yes then this is the branch for you. There is a misconception that in this branch's job opportunity are less as compared to others branch. It is not so, if you are hardworking and talented then there are a lot of opportunity in this sector. Then best of luck and go ahead.
